Support & FAQ

Looking for how-to? The Floored user guide walks through drawing and scanning rooms, building stairs, setting up materials, carpet seams and cut sheets, and printing a job packet.

Frequently asked questions

What devices does Floored run on?
iPhone and iPad on iOS/iPadOS 17 or later, and Mac on macOS 14 (Sonoma) or later. One purchase covers all your devices signed into the same Apple ID.
Do I need a LiDAR-equipped device?
Only for room scanning. On a supported LiDAR-equipped iPhone or iPad, Floored can capture a room and convert it into editable geometry. On any other device you can draw rooms and stairs manually with full measurement entry, wall locks, and snapping — every other release feature works the same.
How does iCloud sync work? Can I use Floored offline?
Jobs sync automatically through your own iCloud account across iPhone, iPad, and Mac. Floored works fully offline on a single device — if iCloud isn't available, the app keeps everything in a local store and shows a banner so you know sync is paused. Nothing is ever deleted because sync is unavailable.
How are carpet (broadloom) estimates calculated?
Room by room — never a percentage waste factor. Floored plans the actual wall-to-wall cuts for each room from your roll width, adds per-cut and pattern-match allowances, and lays out seams (including T-seams and remnant reuse) according to your configured seam layout. The Job Info screen shows a per-room order breakdown so you can see exactly where every foot of the order comes from, and cut sheets show the cut and roll allocation.
Can I use a laser measuring device?
Yes. Floored accepts measurements over Bluetooth from supported laser distance meters while you're editing room measurements. Enable Bluetooth, put the meter in its Bluetooth mode, and take a measurement — it lands in the active measurement field.
Metric or feet-and-inches?
Both. Imperial shows feet + inches (or inches only) with fractions down to 1/32″; metric shows millimeters/meters and square meters. You can set units globally and override them per job.
What's free, and what does the one-time purchase unlock?
Every feature is free — drawing, scanning, materials, estimates, printing, PDF export, photos, sync — for up to 2 saved jobs (active and archived both count). The one-time $34.99 "Unlimited Jobs" purchase removes the job limit. No subscription, no ads, and no features are held back.
I bought the unlock but it isn't showing on another device.
Make sure the device is signed into the same Apple ID used for the purchase, then use the Restore Purchases button on the paywall screen. Purchases are handled entirely by Apple's App Store.
How do I print or export a job packet?
Open a job and use Print. You can produce a packet with a work order, scaled blueprint overview, per-room pages, per-rug pages, and carpet cut sheets — printed directly or saved as a PDF, on iOS and macOS.
Something looks wrong with a job — how do I send it to you?
Floored can export a job as a .flooredjob diagnostic file for troubleshooting. Export the job, attach the file to an email to support, and describe what you expected vs. what you saw. The file contains that job's data, including its notes and attached photos, so review it before sharing.
